What is the difference between a crown and a cap?

A crown and a cap are the exact same thing. In dental terminology, this type of restoration is called a crown. A crown is a porcelain and or metal (such as gold) restoration which is bonded or cemented over the remaining tooth structure to provide strength and shape to the tooth.

What are dental implants?
